PAPER MACHINE DRYER SECTION
The paper machine dryer section dries and removes the water by way of a series of internally steam heated cylinders that evaporate the moisture from the paper web. The typical types of paper and board drying are air drying or multi cylinder drying. It is very essential regardless of the selected drying method, that maximum drying efficiency is ensured with the minimum energy consumption.
For energy efficient operation, optimized steam consumption with effective ventilation and heat recovery is required. Web shrinkage is controlled and this ensures trouble free high production regardless of the paper machine speed or grade.

One alternative to drying of paper for the production of tissue paper or light weight glazed paper is the use of a large diameter heated cylinder called as yankee cylinder on the machine.
