In a Paper Machine, the size press is used to apply solution of starch or another material onto the surface of the dry paper, after which the dry paper is dried. Applied materials are usually used to increase the surface of the paper. Additionally, dusting tendency is reduced, stiffness is increased, and air permeability is reduced.
